Jane Ann currently resides in the village of Homer in upstate New York, along with her beloved canine companion Aggie, where she continues to be active in her church and community.  While living in New York City, she did volunteer work at state hospitals on Welfare Island, administering daily to the chronically ill.   More recently Jane Ann served four successive terms as president of the Cortland County (NY) Medical Auxiliary, where she  was instrumental in fundraising for a new hospital wing and for nursing scholarships.  Jane Ann often serves as guest speaker for various community organizations.   She believes age is an attitude and Jane Ann's "attitude" is quite young.  Few know - and even fewer can guess - her true age.

Jane Ann's four children are now scattered across the world from Syracuse, New York to New York City to North Carolina to Peru, but family gatherings are frequent.  She entertains her six grandchildren with her own original children's stories written in verse.  If she cannot be with them to relate the stories in person, they can listen to her CD Wack-A-Doodle-Do with liner insert adorned with their very own pictures.

In fact, if you simply click on the picture above, you can read an original Miss Jane story, the tale of an impudent, impatient little girl named Emily Morganstern.

Besides continuing to write children's fantasies in verse, Jane Ann greatly enjoys animated films.  She likes recording and would dearly love to do voice-overs in an animated film one day, if the opportunity ever arises.  Her life-long romance with nature leads to running conversations with the birds and animals she encounters in her daily life.  Jane Ann does have a particular problem though - with puppies:  Their innocence and innate charm always bring on a flood of tears.

Among more real-world pursuits, Jane Ann is an avid reader, enjoys word games and is absolutely devoted to the New York Times.   She loves keeping in touch with distant friends and family members via the modern medium of e-mail, and there is always that joyful privilege granted to grandmothers of seeking out those very special gifts for the grandchildren.   While hardly addicted to television, the fast-paced dialogue and superb acting in The West Wing do hold special pleasure.  And, of course, there is that love of music.  It has filled and enriched Jane Ann's life since her earliest years in rural Pennsylvania.
